The Mission of TEAM X-T.R.E.M.E. , is toTrain, Rehabilitate, Empower, Motivate, Endure. We are a non-profit support organization working to raise awareness and funds for our Wounded Warriors. YOGA CLUB™ was created to support offering people of all levels cost effective yoga practices led by area instructors from various studios! Additionally, as yoga is about healthy living, relaxation, and meditation (in addition to great exercise) local yoga clubs hold many classes in the most natural setting...the great outdoors! Yoga styles offered including Power, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Yin, and Hatha, & Pre-Natal in addition to other practices such as Budokon, Pilates and Tai Chi! SFHW has partnered with YOGA CLUB to provide FREE Yoga to the Military and Veterans.
April Clark, RYT200, owner of Second Wind, knows what it means to follow one’s dreams. Long term resident of Onslow County NC, she developed interests in traveling and experiencing new sights, sounds and adventures. April's dad and her lead kayak guide is her dad, a Viet Nam combat vet and retired Sgt. Major. Her brother-in-law Tom is a wounded warrior, and he's assigned to the wounded warrior barracks at Lejeune. SFHW Board Member Cheryl LeClair offers a FREE class for Marines at Second Wind that includes Yoga & iRest®.
The Veteran Artist Program (VAP) partners artists, who are also veterans, with professional artists to highlight veteran-related issues and propel talented veterans into the mainstream creative arts community.

Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Corporation designed to provide homeless veterans and other veterans in need with comprehensive services that will enable them to rejoin their communities as productive citizens.
Strumming for Vets is an organization that has come up with a way to help restore the feeling of joy and self-worth that can be lost after extreme trauma. With music therapy and donated guitars and teachers donating their time, these vets are given a new type of therapy that works.
Community Area Resource Team (CART) is a voluntary military and civilian cooperative partnership organized to provide multiservice networking for support and assistance to ensure total-force family readiness for active-duty personnel, as well as services to veterans and their families. CART membership involves all military services within the region, all major veteran service organizations within the region, all relevant state and local government departments and agencies, civilian organizations established to assist military families, relevant community and faith-based service organizations, organizations with a role in disaster response (e.g., police, fire, hospitals, etc.) and community businesses interested in supporting military members, veterans and their families.
The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs is an Executive Department in Maryland State Government with a service mission to: Provide representation to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The Agency also provides referrals to other federal, Maryland State and local government agencies for benefits which may be available to eligible individuals. Manage and operate authorized Maryland State Veterans Cemeteries and a Civil War Cemetery. Maintain and care for memorials for the Maryland Vietnam, Korean, and World War II Veterans. Manage Charlotte Hall Veterans Home Provide staff support and assistance to State Veterans Commissions.
